“The Hobbit” or “There and Back Again” is a fantasy novel for children by JRR Tolkien, which he wrote between 1930 (or 1931) and 1936 and was first published on September 21, 1937 by George Allen & Unwin appeared. It was later supplemented by the novel “The Lord of the Rings”.
The background for these two fantastic works is the mythology devised by Tolkien. “The Hobbit” was originally conceived as a story for Tolkien’s own children. After the publication of the Lord of the Rings, Tolkien made changes to the “Hobbit”, primarily to resolve factual contradictions with the other works.
